Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (Democrat-New York) sent a letter to Fox News owner Rupert Murdoch and other executives at Fox News. Here's some of what Schumer said in his letter:
Proponents of this white nationalist, far-right conspiracy theory believe that a complicit or cooperative class of elites are advancing a plot designed to undermine the political power and culture of white Americans. For years, these types of beliefs have existed at the fringes of American life. However, this pernicious theory, which has no basis in fact, has been injected into the mainstream thanks in large part to a dangerous level of amplification by your network and its anchors.

House rep Liz Cheney (Republican-Wyoming) tweeted the following:
The House GOP leadership has enabled white nationalism, white supremacy, and anti-semitism. History has taught us that what begins with words ends in far worse. @GOP leaders must renounce and reject these views and those who hold them.
House rep Adam Kinzinger (Republican-Illinois) tweeted the following:
Did you know: @EliseStefanik pushes white replacement theory? The #3 in the house GOP. @Liz_Cheney got removed for demanding truth. @GOPLeader should be asked about this.
House GOP conference chair Elise Stefanik (Republican-New York) tweeted the following:
The American people are smart. It is a FACT that DEMOCRATS have been explicitly pushing for amnesty for years - specifically for political and electoral purposes.
On September 15, 2021 Stefanik posted the following on Facebook:
Radical Democrats are planing their most aggressive move yet: A PERMANENT ELECTION INSURRECTION. Their plan to grant amnesty to 11 MILLION illegal immigrants will overthro wour current electorate and create a permanent liberal majority in Washington.
Stefanik senior adviser Alex deGrasse said the following:
Any implication or attempt to blame the heinous shooting in Buffalo on the Congresswoman is a new disgusting low for the Left, their Never Trump allies, and the sycophant stenographers in the media. The shooting was an act of evil and the criminal should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (Republican-California) said the following:
Same thing Cheney always does, just trying to play a political game when she knows something's not true.
House Minority Whip Steve Scalise (Republican-Louisiana) said the following:
We've been very vocal against white nationalism. We have never supported white supremacy. And, you know, what happened in New York is horrific. And I think everybody should be there to be uplifting the community. The suspect is the very worst of humanity. For political individuals to try to make some political game out of this shows how little they are from that aspect.
This is a time when you need to be praying for the victims and ratcheting down the rhetoric and not trying to blame other people than the people directly responsible for the shooting. I've seen that firsthand. And this is a time when we need healing, not people trying to promote their own political agenda.
Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer (Democrat-New York) said the following:
Every time MAGA Republicans or pundits vilify wrongly immigrants and call them invaders, every time they falsely claim that millions of undocumented people cast ballots in our elections, and every time loud bigoted voices bemoan the disintegration of an imagined 'classic' America, the subtext is clear: these hard-right MAGA Republicans argue that people of color and minority communities are somehow posing a threat — a threat — to the American way of life.

New York Governor Kathy Hochul said that the AR-15 Gendron used in the shooting was purchased legally in the state of New York.
The shooting was live-streamed by the shooter on the live-streaming platform Twitch.
Investigators are looking at a 180-page "purported" online manifesto for clues. The manifesto is allegedly written by a person claiming to be Payton Gendron who confesses to the shooting.
In the manifesto the author writes about his perceptions of the dwindling size of the White population, the ethnic and cultural replacement of Whites, and describes himself as a fascist, a White supremacist, and an anti-Semite.

May 14, 2022:
Ten people were killed and three were wounded during a shooting at the Tops Friendly Market in Buffalo, New York.
According to Buffalo Police Commissioner Joseph Gramaglia, of the 13 people shot 11 were Black and two were White.
The shooter was identified as 18-year-old white male Payton Gendron, who drove 3.5 hours from his home town of Conklin, in Broome County, to carry out the shooting.
According to a government official, the semi-automatic gun that Gendron used in the shooting has "the N-word" in white paint on the barrel as well as the number 14. According to the Anti-Defamation League's "Hate on Display™ Hate Symbols Database" the number 14 refers to the popular white supremacist 14-word slogan:
We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children.
Stephen Belongia, the local head of the FBI, said the agency is investigating this "both as a hate crime and racially motivated violent extremism."
Erie County Sheriff John Garcia said, "It was, straight up, a racially motivated hate crime."
Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn said investigators have collected evidence showing "racial animosity" was behind the attack.
