The U.S. Supreme Court issued it's Ruling in Young v. United parcel Service, Inc., voting 6-3 to overturn a lower courts decision. The Supreme court did not say that UPS specifically violated Peggy's rights under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act, but it did say that UPS must explain why it feels it does not have to accommodate Peggy when it accommodates so many other workers in other situations. Now the case returns to the lower court where it will be heard again.

Yesterday, the U.S. Supreme Court began hearing the case of Peggy Young versus United Parcel Service (Young v. UPS). While pregnant, Peggy was told by her doctor to lift no more than 20 pounds. Peggy requested a light-duty position, but instead UPS put Peggy on unpaid leave. The big question is whether Peggy's rights were violated under the Pregnancy Discrimination Act.
