By a vote of 7-0, the Oklahoma Supreme Court ruled that homeowners who have sustained injuries or property damage from earthquakes they say are caused by fracking can sue in Oklahoma state trial courts instead of having their disputes settled by the Oklahoma state Corporation Commission.
According to researchers, earthquakes from fracking in Oklahoma are due mainly to the practice of injecting large volumes of saltwater, left over from the actual drilling operation, back into the ground and not the actual drilling operation itself.
