May 10, 2015:

Yesterday, New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo announced new regulations for the nail salon industry. The mayor will create an Enforcement Task Force responsible for investigating all nail salons in the state of New York, addressing concerns such as low wages, unfair labor practices, and the health hazards of working with dangerous chemicals.

Last week the The New York Times published a two-part investigation into the New York nail salon industry. Part one is entitled "The Price of Nice Nails". Part two is entitled "Perfect Nails, Poisoned Workers".
