In Donald Trump's hush money trial, New York Judge Juan Merchan sentenced Donald Trump to an unconditional discharge.
Regarding the discharge, Merchan said:
After careful analysis and obedience of government mandates, pursuant of law, the court feels the only sentence is an unconditional discharge, which is a lawful and permissible sentence for falsifying business records.
I impose that sentence for all 34 counts, and sir, I wish you godspeed as you pursue your second term in office.

In a 5-4 decision, the U.S. Supreme Court declined Donald Trump's request to postpone tomorrow's scheduled sentencing in his New York hush money trial.
The court's three liberal justices (Sonia Sotomayor, Elena Kagan and Ketanji Brown Jackson) and two conservative justices (John Roberts and Amy Coney Barrett) voted to decline Trump's request. The other four conservative justices (Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh) voted to grant Trump's request.
