Justin Trudeau, the leader of the Liberal Party in Canada, was elected as the new prime minister of Canada. Trudeau will replace incumbent prime minister Stephen Harper, a member of the Conservative Party, who has been prime minister since February of 2006.
In addition, the Liberal Party won a majority in the House of Commons (184 seats of 338 seats total).
