Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin reported that the Oregon state medical examiner has determined the cause of death for Chris Harper-Mercer was suicide.
One additional handgun was found at Harper-Mercer's home, bringing the total number of guns connected to Harper-Mercer to 14, all of which were legally obtained through a federally licensed firearms dealer.

Late Thursday authorities said that all of the 13 weapons connected to the shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer, were legally purchased by him or a family member.
Mercer left a note at the scene of the shootings saying he was '"in a bad way"', and that he '"felt the world was against him"'.

A 26-year-old gunman shot and killed nine people and injured seven others at Umpqua Community College near Roseburg, Oregon. The shooter, Chris Harper-Mercer, was shot dead by police.
Initial reports indicate the shooter targeted Christians in the shooting.
