Colorado Man Sentenced to 235 Months in Prison for Plotting to Blow Up a Synagogue

Feb 26, 2021:

Richard Holzer was sentenced to 235 months (about 19.5 years) in prison, followed by 15 years of supervised release.

Judge Raymond Moore said:

I am not one who believes that harsh punishment is only reserved for people who managed to succeed...He attempted to blow up a synagogue, to wipe it from the face of the earth and to terrorize a Jewish community…It is one of the most vulgar, aggressive, evil crimes that can be committed against an entire group of persons.

In a plea agreement Richard Holzer pleaded guilty to federal hate crime and explosives charges.

Holzer self-identifies as a Neo-Nazi and a white supremacist.
