Aug 12, 2017:
One person was killed and 19 people were inured at a white nationalist "Unite the Right" rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
The white nationalists organized the rally to protest the planned removal of a Robert E. Lee statue in Charlottesville, and to protest the recent renaming of Lee Park to Emancipation Park.
After police broke up clashes between white nationalists and counter-protesters (antifa/anti-fascists), Virginia Governor Terry McAuliffe declared a state of emergency.
At one point during the protest, a white nationalist drove a car through a group of anti-protesters, eventually crashing into the back of another car, killing one person and injuring 19 others. The driver, 20-year-old James Alex Fields Jr. of Maumee, Ohio, was arrested on charges of second-degree murder, malicious wounding, and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.
Just outside of Charlottesville, two Virginia State Police Department officers were killed when the helicopter they were in crashed. It's not clear if the crash is related to the rally.

As has been amply stated across the media landscape, everyone present at this riot was videotaped ubiquitously by hundreds, if not thousands of smartphones and cameras. I wonder if all these felony assaults are prosecutable? My brother lives several miles from this riot sight and steadfastly stayed away.
